Saving the Planet One Family at a Time
About Us
Solar for All partners with affordable housing providers in Portland (Community Vision, Inc. and Proud Ground) and Medford (Rogue Valley Habitat for Humanity) to organize, and fund, the installation of solar electric (photovoltaic) systems on homes for low-income Oregonians. We see this as our “three for one” solution for multiple challenges in the state:
• We enable local solar installation jobs by creating additional demand for solar panels in our communities.
• We strive to break the cycle of poverty by reducing monthly utility bills for families who qualify for low-income housing assistance.
• We reduce America’s reliance on the global carbon economy by increasing local renewable energy generation.
Achievements/Social Impacts to Date:
Since March 2015, Solar for All has successfully installed over 225 kilowatts of solar panels on 53 affordable homes in Oregon (Portland, Gresham, Hillsboro Medford, and now Bend) and Southwest Washington (Vancouver and Washougal)!
Each system is expected to save the homeowner over $400 annually on their utility bills for the next 20 years! That's over $424,000 in savings our home owners can use for food, clothes, education, retirement savings, or even a family vacation.
100% of each $1 donated is used to install panels! All overhead costs are generously covered by our board.
Each year government incentives for solar reduce (as they should), but that makes it more expensive for Solar for All to continue to offer these systems at no cost to the homeowners, or their affordable housing providers. We need your help to continue to "Save the Planet One Family at a Time!"
